We want to "make people"

COUNTRYSIDE - SENCELLES - BINIALI

Volem Sencelles (We want Sencelles)

Volem Sencelles is a group of feminist and left-wing voters with a fundamental principle: to make an ethical policy.

We are united by this exciting project, open to all, to advance in the search for the common good: for a more balanced, united, empathetic and feminist society.

We have co-governed in two legislatures, with the PSOE and El Pi, contributing our vision, developing many projects of our programme, taking advantage of the transversality of the Department of Participation and Environment and its areas, such as the Archaeological Route, Markets and Animal Welfare, Mobility, Local Economy and Cultural Tourism.

We are proud, not because we consider we have done a good job, but because we have been building the way step by step, learning, making changes that have transformed life in the municipality.

We were told that the people from Sencelles were not participative, and now we have become a point of reference on the island; that in Biniali they did not want a children's playground and a third of the town’s people from Biniali  participated; or that the Saturday market would not work, and now it is an important meeting point; or that the people wanted a car park and not a square and, although it is not perfect, at last, in the centre of Sencelles, we have a square where we can be a village.

We want a lively and safe town

We want Sencelles and Biniali to stop acting as a  dormitory town where the streets are for cars and the pavements are dangerous, because of this we will implement the new Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan.

We want a town with safe residential streets and where people are a priority, widening some pavements such as in Calle Rafal and Calle Ramon Llull, raising all the crossings and creating pedestrian areas, both in Sencelles and Biniali, without removing parking spaces.

We want the Consell de Mallorca to invest in the southern ring road to connect all the roads, and remove as much traffic as possible. This is already underway.

We want landscaped squares and playgrounds where we can enjoy meeting each other  and shelter from the hot summer sun.

We want to build a new square in Rafal street, a square and a children's playground in the Plaza Nueva, a square in the Vial de las Escuelas and garden the square where women do sports, the square of La Obra and the Paseo Biniali-Sencelles.

-This is how we lived when I was a youngster.

-Ah, how nice!

We want a lively and dynamic town

We want to strengthen the social and associative fabric and provide it with more resources, giving them visibility, feeling and living out our projects.

We want to continue promoting, in the centre of Sencelles, the dynamisation of the Saturday market, the children and the library, the young people and the Casal de Joves and the elderly and their premises.

We want to improve and dynamise the space of the Casal de Entidades Escoles Velles and take advantage of a subsidy to build an auditorium for theatre, cinema, concerts...

We want to guarantee, with the reform of the Biniali Convent, a library service and children's space, a youth centre, a space for organisations, workshops and exhibitions and to improve the space for the elderly.

We want to make a Welcome Guide to welcome newcomers.

-I am calmer now

-So, can I go alone?

We want a living and sustainable village

We want to reduce energy bills by promoting solar self-consumption and energy communities, offering them the municipal roofs.

We want to fight to increase bus frequencies, promote car-sharing systems and collective leasing of electric cars.

We want to provide solutions for the collection of water and its storage, ethically cutting down on the pigeon population to make this possible.

We want to build subsidised and sustainable housing so that young people do not have to leave Sencelles.

We want to build a cistern in the school to use the water from the roofs and provide it with a garden area and trees in the courtyard and a large porch with solar panels.

We want the landscaped areas to be adapted to the heat, require little water, have fountains, benches and shade.

We want to continue promoting the new ordinance by improving waste management, creating a second chance space, which is already being processed; continue raising awareness to move towards zero waste: incorporating new bins for waste and packaging in the municipality, holding composting workshops, giving away compost bins, distributing shopping baskets...

We want a living countryside

We want to attend to the other half of the Sencelles’ people, the great forgotten and neglected of the institutions, distributed over 80% of the territory, along the hundreds of kilometres of the 90 roads of Sencelles, with similar taxes, but with almost no services.

We want to fight for our rights and quality of life, to obtain more services for the  people living outside of the town, even if it is beyond our competences.

We want to find solutions for the renovation of houses, the collection of manure, the channelling of water, the construction of cisterns, the installation of solar panels...

We want to create channels of participation and communication to improve the resolution of our problems.

We want to improve the cleanliness, clearing and safety for pedestrians on the paths and ethical birth control for the cat colonies.

-We want housing regulation!

-We want services by field, now!

We want more animal welfare

We want to continue to make progress with animal welfare, implementing the new ordinance, regulating cat sanitation and the animal census to achieve action on all fronts.

We want to further develop the recent agreement to carry out ethical control of urban and rural cat colonies with the CER Method.

We want to continue promoting civic awareness, animal and feces census campaigns door to door and in the street with the police, which is what is giving the best results.

We want to continue to educate and achieve a change in habits in order to improve animal welfare and, therefore, that of our community.

We want to improve the Área Canina des Fossaret, a space where dogs learn to socialise, and between neighbours and neighbourhoods, and inaugurate another space in Bons Aires street.

We want tourism and local economy

We want a town with more lively squares and streets to attract more shops.

We want to continue to promote the Sencelles-Costitx Archaeological Route, making it more dynamic with activities and visits.

We want to continue making visitsencelles.com more dynamic in order to bring our cultural and natural heritage closer to everyone.

We want to offer cultural and healthy tourism, accommodation, good wine and food, boosting the local economy, revitalising the 15 thematic and circular routes: cultural, naturalistic and archaeological.

We want to produce illustrated booklets for each of the routes, as well as 11 new urban routes and a Beata route.

We want to make Small Routes along the torrent, and between other municipalities, such as Santa Maria, Santa Eugènia... and create cycle tourism routes.

We want to promote entrepreneurship with workshops, advice, coworking spaces and a list of services.

-Do you see it?

-Well, then let’s go to a restaurant.

We want more participation

We want to make politics for the common good in order to open up democracy with meaningful processes, making important decisions such as the recent Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan participatory.

We want to show that we can improve life in the municipality by inviting you to contribute your point of view.

We want to promote inclusive values: the democratic values necessary for community life, for the "making of people".

We want to develop the different axes of the innovative Municipal Strategic Plan: Sencelles Present and Future, to which we invite the opposition to take the final decisions, so that future governments cannot underestimate it.

We want to continue to do participatory budgets, but include proposals in the annual Municipal Action Plan.

We want to continue to be attentive to promote spaces for participation, such as with the associative fabric of Sencelles to continue organising the Casal de Entitats de les Escoles Velles or, with the people from Biniali, the uses of the Convent.

Our active candidacy

We want your support, so that we can have another councillor and gain more strength in the government team to continue developing projects that make us feel more and more proud of Sencelles.

Laura Pérez, promoter of Quina Animalada, the Consumer Group, the Time Bank, activist of the Feminist Movement of Sencelles and SOS Can Vairet.

Carme Reynés, social worker, promoter of the Consumer Group, of the Banc del Temps, activist of the Feminist Movement of Sencelles and former councillor.

Joan Rigo, illustrator, facilitator of group processes and activist, currently with La Utópica and Rebelión o Extinción Mallorca. The current councillor.

-Open every 4 years vs. open every day

We want to hear from you

Talk with Joan Rigo (605 835 058), our councillor.

Joan is a person who is close to you, friendly and active, he will listen to your needs, concerns, proposals and doubts about what we want to do.

-We want to make a village, a safe and lively one.

-Together we can make it happen.

-Democracy is every day, not just every four years.

Politics are better with you

-Very good idea!

-Of course!
